Devious Developments
HACKFEST
Build the rig, image the OS, break into CorpoMax. A fake-OS hacking sim in the Uplink / Hacknet / Bitburner vein.
Coming to Steam
You start with an empty desk and a budget.
Order parts from Crapazon. Assemble the tower — every watt has to come from somewhere, every gigabyte counts, and without a NIC you’re not getting online at all. Power it on, image an operating system, boot into HackfestOS.
Then go to work on CorpoMax.
What you actually do
Crack firewalls
Get a foothold on the network — and find out fast whether the rig you built can actually take the door off.
Read the logs
Real employee names are in there, and tracing them is how you find the next way in. The puzzle is reading, not guessing.
Solve your way deeper
Every layer of the network is a lock with a real answer. No dice rolls, no stat checks.
Seed malware that prints money while you sleep
Then spend it on better hardware, which cracks faster, which gets you deeper.
Inside the machine
The loop
Better rig → faster hacks → more money → better rig. Hardware is the progression system, and it’s all diegetic: no XP bar, just a machine you built getting genuinely more capable because you bought the right part.
The whole thing is the OS.
No menus over a game — you are operating a fake computer, and the computer is the interface. Windows, a file browser, a terminal, a store, a phone. Everything you do, you do inside it.
Get it
There is a free browser demo — no download, no account. The full game is $5 on itch.io, with a Windows build on GitHub. A Steam release is coming.
